Alex gets Grant involved in an illegal underground tiddlywink betting ring. Michelle tries to change her life and Jenny wants to date Chris.

Michelle finds herself in the middle of Grant and Chris. Grant dresses as Kylie. Chris tries to impress Jenny.

Michelle's lesson in responsibility backfires when Alex asks her to marry him. Grant gets caught having sex with his legal secretary at work. Jenny helps Chris with his essay about the modern woman.

Michelle tries her hand at providing 'care in the community'. But it all ends in Bar Salade with Chris drinking milk, Grant riding a cow, Jenny dressed as a ghost and a little person forcing Alex to run through the sheet glass window.

Michelle and Jenny's girlie night out ends in disaster. Grant maims pensioners in his bid to drum up business for his law firm. Alex comes face to face with his fear of little people and runs through a sheet glass window, yet again. Chris discovers he's a daddy and has been for the past sixteen years.

Michelle visits 'Alex' in hospital and realises, for a very short moment, that she's not actually the centre of the universe. Jenny and Grant get to know each other better and Chris meets his son.

Chris has money worries and searches for a new flatmate. Alex and Jenny look after Grant while he deals with the lump on his testicle. Michelle is forced to choose between fame and friendship.

Michelle runs into her old college buddy Chris who soon moves in with her. To show him how she got on with her own life, she tells him she got engaged with Grant. When Claire steps by, things heat up quickly.

Michelle hooks him up with one of her girlfriends. However when the two become a real couple, she tries to break them up again. Claire acts strange around Chris, which leads her even to question her religion.

Michelle sets herself a challenge to be ugly so that people may find her attractive after Alex tells her otherwise. Chris has had enough and is forcing himself to propose due to sexual frustration. Elsewhere, Grant is the new target for Rachel...

Chris buys a ring for Claire which causes her to flee. Rachel gives Grant one last chance to choose her, with incalculable consequences.

Chris finally finds the courage to present his fiancee to his parents, but it turns out they already know her. Michelle is frustrated with her job and takes up Grant's offer to become his new PA.

Michelle really likes her new job until she discovers what Grant's daily life really looks like. Chris wakes up with gonorrhoea. When he tries to find the source, he makes some shocking discoveries about his friends' sex lives.

Michelle has to get control over her life again, to hold on to her boyfriend Dean. While Mike is searching a place to stay, Grant's dreams seem to come true, when Michelle invites him over. Claire tries to stop biting men, to finally find the love of her life.

Michelle tells her boyfriend Dean that she loves him, however, according to him it's too early in the relationship to love each other. After a small argument, Dean decides to give in and learn to say that he loves her. But the only thing he can think of in which he loves is Conan the Barbarian! Meanwhile, Mike has to come to terms with his two fears- the darkness and Natasha Kaplinsky.

Dean buys Michelle a dress which is a size fourteen, however Michelle cannot fit into it. Claire tells her that it's probably because of her high amount of binge eating. After attempting to lose some weight, she tries on the dress, with it barely fitting her. She goes to the party at the local bar (Bar Saladé), and splits her dress. However, it turns out that she has been wearing an age 14 dress.

Mike purchases a new mirror from EBay with a picture of Morrissey on the right hand side. However, he soon sees a picture of a new michrophone which apparently makes "your voice sound like The Count from Sesame Street", but needs £200 to buy it. So he starts selling Michelle's clothes on EBay to pay for it.

Michelle is allowed to work from home, but is persistently distracted by Dean; Mike is depressed at being almost 30 and so considers Botox; while Grant desperately tries to fake a serious ailment as an excuse for staying off work to help Mike.

Dean's lack of respect for Michelle's career as a nutritionist causes problems as she endeavours to show just how vital her job is. Mike offers to fix Michelle's moped after he drives it into the local canal; and Grant makes a play for Michelle.

Michelle tries to dump her boyfriend, and Mike is bitten by a tramp.

Michelle has a spare ticket for a secret gig and stages a Scrabble competition and a penalty shoot-out to decide who'll accompany her, while Mike finds spiritual guidance in a leaflet from The Giving Family.
