The 2026 Indian Films You Still Cannot Stream in India

Most questions about Indian streaming have an answer. These are the ones that do not. Every film below released theatrically in 2026, finished or nearly finished its run, and had no Indian streaming service carrying it when we checked on 13 August 2026.

The list is short, and that is itself the story: of the fifteen Indian films that have crossed 100 crore this year, twelve are already streaming. The Hindi and Malayalam windows have compressed to somewhere between four and eight weeks, and Malayalam is faster still. What is left is a small set of films where something else is going on — a star vehicle holding its theatrical run, a franchise comedy with a long tail, or a film nobody has bid for.

One caveat that matters more here than on any other list we publish. We are reporting an absence, and an absence is harder to verify than a presence: our platform data comes from provider listings for India, and a service that has quietly added a title without updating its listing would show up here as unavailable. Where a date has been announced, we give it.

  1. 1/6Jana Nayagan

    Jana Nayagan

    Film · 2026 · Tamil · Jul 22, 2026

    Worldwide gross318.09 crore
    Released22 July 2026
    OTT dateNone announced

The biggest Tamil film of 2026 and the largest Indian film of the year with no streaming home. Three weeks after release it was still theatrical-only, which at this scale is a decision rather than an oversight: a film taking 318 crore has a theatrical run worth protecting, and Tamil star vehicles hold their windows longer than any other Indian category.

  2. 2/6Dhamaal 4

    Dhamaal 4

    Film · 2026 · Hindi · Jul 10, 2026

    Worldwide gross222.71 crore
    Released10 July 2026
    OTT dateNone announced

Fourth in a comedy franchise that began in 2007, and fourth on the year's Hindi leaderboard. Five weeks out with no date is longer than the current Hindi norm, but comedy is the genre with the most repeat theatrical business in India, and a film still selling tickets is a film with no reason to hurry.

  3. 3/6Welcome to the Jungle

    Welcome to the Jungle

    Film · 2026 · Hindi · Jun 25, 2026

    Worldwide gross186.83 crore
    Released25 June 2026
    OTT date21 August · JioHotstar

The one film here with an answer. It reaches JioHotstar on 21 August, eight weeks after its theatrical release, which is almost exactly the current median Hindi window. Included because until that date arrives it belongs on this list, and because eight weeks is the number every other film here is being measured against.

  4. 4/6Patriot

    Patriot

    Film · 2026 · Malayalam · May 1, 2026

    Worldwide gross79.66 crore
Trade estimate80.2 crore against a 120 crore budget
    Released1 May 2026
    OTT dateNone announced

The anomaly on this list. Malayalam films reach Indian streaming faster than any other industry's — six of the seven biggest of 2026 were on a service within weeks — and Patriot, three and a half months after release, is not. It is also on [the year's flops list](/blog/biggest-box-office-flops), recovering about two-thirds of a reported 120 crore budget, and a film in that position usually wants its streaming cheque sooner rather than later.

  5. 5/6KD – The Devil

    KD – The Devil

    Film · 2026 · Kannada · Apr 30, 2026

    Worldwide gross27.22 crore
Trade estimate24.2 crore against an 80 crore budget
    Released30 April 2026
    OTT dateNone announced

The year's biggest Kannada film, its biggest Kannada loss, and still unavailable to stream three and a half months on. Kannada has the thinnest streaming demand of the industries we track, and a film that did not work theatrically has little to bring to a negotiation — which is how a language's number one release ends up with no digital home at all.

  6. 6/6Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata

    Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata

    Film · 2026 · Hindi · Jun 12, 2026

    Worldwide gross6.6 crore
Trade estimate13.2% of a reported 50 crore budget
    Released12 June 2026
    OTT dateNone announced

The clearest case of the pattern this list exists to show. A mid-budget Hindi film that took 6.6 crore against a reported 50 crore has no theatrical run left to protect and no streaming deal either, and those two facts are the same fact: the audience number that failed in cinemas is the number a platform uses to decide what the film is worth.

The through-line is that a long window means one of two opposite things, and the box office number tells you which. Jana Nayagan and Dhamaal 4 are unavailable because they are still working; KD – The Devil and Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata are unavailable because they did not. Welcome to the Jungle, at eight weeks, is what the normal case now looks like.

For the films that did land, the 100-crore club has the full 2026 leaderboard with the platform for each, and the August calendar has what is dated this month. The flops list covers the money side of the four films here that lost it.
