Hollywood Couples Who Are Together in Real Life — and the Films They Made Together

Film sets are workplaces, and workplaces are where a lot of people meet the person they end up with. What makes the Hollywood version strange is that the courtship is preserved on camera and then sold to strangers for the next thirty years. You can watch Tom Holland and Zendaya fall for each other in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and by 2026 you know how it turned out.

This list is the films and shows where the pairing is real on both sides of the camera — the couples who are still together, not the famous breakups. That distinction matters more than it sounds: about half the on-screen romances people remember as great chemistry ended in a divorce filing, and putting those here would make this a different, sadder list. Exes who kept sharing a screen get their own piece.

One thing worth noting before you scroll. Only three of these couples actually met on the project listed against them. The rest were already together and chose to work as a pair, which is a harder decision than it looks — Emily Blunt turned down A Quiet Place before agreeing to it, and she was married to the director.

  1. 1/10Spider-Man: No Way Home

    Spider-Man: No Way Home

    Film · 2021 · English · Dec 15, 2021

Tom Holland and Zendaya. They were cast opposite each other as teenagers on Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016, spent five years denying it, confirmed the relationship in 2021, and by 2026 Holland was discussing their wedding in the past tense in an Esquire cover story — after Zendaya's stylist Law Roach had already let it slip that the couple had married. No Way Home is the one to watch for the pairing rather than the plot: the scene where Peter loses MJ entirely is the closest a superhero film has come to being about two people. They are on screen together twice more in 2026, two weeks apart — Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, where he is Telemachus and she is the goddess Athena, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which broke the all-time opening-weekend record in July. Their careers have never been busier and they have never said less about each other in public.

  2. 2/10A Quiet Place

    A Quiet Place

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. They did not meet on a set — a mutual friend introduced them in 2008 and they married in 2010 — but they turned their marriage into the most effective casting decision of the last decade. Krasinski wrote and directed A Quiet Place and initially could not get Blunt to play the wife; she read the script on a plane and changed her mind. The result is a horror film whose central relationship needs no exposition because the two actors have twelve years of shorthand to draw on, and the bathtub sequence works precisely because you believe them. They repeated it in A Quiet Place Part II.

  3. 3/10Vicky Cristina Barcelona

    Vicky Cristina Barcelona

    Film · 2008 · English · Aug 15, 2008

    Lionsgate Play

Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem. The longest-running pairing here: they first acted together as very young performers in Bigas Luna's Jamón Jamón in 1992, married in 2010, and have since done Loving Pablo and Everybody Knows as a couple. Vicky Cristina Barcelona is the one that mattered — Cruz won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for it, playing the volatile ex-wife of Bardem's painter, which is a strange thing to win an Oscar for opposite the man you would marry two years later. Streaming in India on Lionsgate Play.

  4. 4/10Green Lantern

    Green Lantern

    Film · 2011 · English · Jun 14, 2011

    Netflix

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. Green Lantern is a bad film and both of them say so; Reynolds has built a second career out of saying so, most profitably inside Deadpool. It is on this list because it is where they met, in 2010, playing Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris. They began dating in 2011 and married in September 2012, and have never made another film together — an unusual amount of discipline for two people this famous. It is on Netflix in India, which means the most consequential thing to come out of Warner Bros' failed superhero launch is one paragraph away.

  5. 5/10Once Upon a Time

    Once Upon a Time

    Series · 2011 · English · Oct 23, 2011

Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas. They were cast as Snow White and Prince Charming, met on the pilot in 2011, got engaged in 2013 and married in April 2014, which is the least surprising sequence of events in television history. Seven seasons of a fairy-tale show is a long time to play someone's true love, and the show wrote around both of their pregnancies. They are still together, and still visibly delighted about it in interviews.

  6. 6/10That '70s Show

    That '70s Show

    Series · 1998 · English · Aug 23, 1998

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher. The timeline is the point. Kunis was fourteen when she was cast as Jackie; Kutcher played Kelso; her first on-screen kiss was with him, and they did not date at the time. They ran into each other years after the show ended, started seeing each other in 2012, married in 2015 and have two children. Almost nobody watching the sitcom in 1998 would have picked this pairing out of the six, which is what makes going back to it strange in a way the other entries here are not.

  7. 7/10I Know What You Did Last Summer

I Know What You Did Last Summer

    Film · 1997 · English · Oct 17, 1997

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. They met on this film in 1997, stayed friends for three years, started dating in 2000 and married in 2002 — then immediately co-starred as Daphne and Fred in Scooby-Doo, which remains the single oddest thing a newly married Hollywood couple has done together. Nearly a quarter-century on they are the most durable marriage on this list, and one of the very few of that late-90s teen-horror generation still standing.

  8. 8/10The Place Beyond the Pines

    The Place Beyond the Pines

    Film · 2013 · English · Mar 20, 2013

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes. They met on Derek Cianfrance's film in 2011, where they play a former couple raising a son who does not know his father — and then went and did approximately that, minus the motorcycle robberies. Mendes stepped back from acting almost entirely afterwards to raise their two daughters. The two of them have referred to each other as husband and wife in interviews without ever confirming a wedding, which is the level of privacy they have maintained for fourteen years.

  9. 9/10Dream House

    Dream House

    Film · 2011 · English · Sep 29, 2011

Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig. The film is a haunted-house thriller that satisfied nobody, including its director, who tried to have his name taken off it. What happened around it is the story: Weisz and Craig had known each other since the 1990s, were cast as a married couple here, and married for real in June 2011, months before it opened. They have kept their private life so tightly closed since that the release of this forgettable thriller is one of the few public facts about how they got together.

  10. 10/10Hit & Run

    Hit & Run

    Film · 2012 · English · Aug 22, 2012

    Lionsgate Play

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard. Shepard wrote it, co-directed it, did his own driving in it, and cast his fiancée as the girlfriend being driven — an act of confidence that a $14 million worldwide gross did not reward. They married in 2013 and have since built a second public life around being candid about how much work the marriage takes, which is a rarer commodity in this business than another car chase.

Frequently asked

Which Hollywood couples actually met on a film set?
Of the ten pairings here, Tom Holland and Zendaya (Spider-Man: Homecoming), Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds (Green Lantern), Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas (Once Upon a Time), Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes (The Place Beyond the Pines) and Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. (I Know What You Did Last Summer) all met through the project listed against them. The rest were already a couple and chose to work together.
Are Tom Holland and Zendaya married?
Yes. Zendaya was photographed wearing an engagement ring at the Golden Globes in January 2025, and in 2026 Holland spoke about the wedding having already taken place in an Esquire cover story, after her longtime stylist Law Roach had said the couple had quietly married. Neither has released a formal announcement or photographs.
Why are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie not on this list?
Because the list is restricted to couples who are currently together. Pairings that ended — Pitt and Jolie, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu — are covered separately in our piece on exes who shared a screen.
Where can I watch these films in India?
Each card carries the India platform we currently hold for that title. Availability moves: Spider-Man: No Way Home and A Quiet Place sit on major subscription services, while a few of the older titles here are rental-only or unavailable in India at the moment, in which case the card shows no platform tag.
