Most Watched Indian OTT Shows and Films — January to June 2026
The seven biggest non-sport streaming titles of the year so far in India, ranked on Ormax StreamView's mid-year viewership estimates.

India's biggest streaming story in the first half of 2026 was not a show at all. Ormax StreamView puts the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 at the top of the country's OTT chart with an estimated 246 million viewers, followed by IPL 2026 at 228.4 million — both on JioHotstar, and both an order of magnitude clear of anything scripted.
Strip the cricket out and the picture gets far more interesting. A YouTube comedy format that moved to Netflix beat every film and every original series in the country. A two-part Hindi action thriller took the next two places. And an Amazon MX Player period drama about a wristwatch outsold most of what the big platforms spent the half-year marketing.
Here are the seven shows and films Ormax placed highest for January to June 2026, with where each one streams in India today. For what landed most recently, see this week's new releases.
1/7India's Got Latent (Season 2)

Series · 2024 · Hindi · Jun 14, 2024
Netflix8.7Viewers, Jan–Jun 2026 38.5 million Samay Raina's talent-show parody is the most watched non-sport property in India this half-year, and the gap tells the story: 38.5 million viewers for a format that began as a YouTube upload and now streams on Netflix. Nothing scripted came close. Guest judges score aspiring performers on talents nobody asked to see, and the 30-minute threshold behind the ranking suggests audiences sat with it rather than sampling it.
2/7Dhurandhar

Film · 2025 · Hindi · Dec 5, 2025
NetflixJioHotstar7.0Viewers, Jan–Jun 2026 35.2 million The first half of the Hindi spy thriller, in which a traveller works his way into Karachi's underworld to pull the ISI's network apart from the inside. It opened in cinemas in December 2025 and did its streaming numbers in this window, landing 35.2 million viewers — the highest of any film on the chart.
3/7Dhurandhar: The Revenge

Film · 2026 · Hindi · Mar 18, 2026
NetflixJioHotstar7.3Viewers, Jan–Jun 2026 27.8 million Part two, released in March 2026, carried 27.8 million viewers with it — a drop of roughly a fifth from part one, which by sequel standards is a small leak. Between them the two halves account for 63 million viewers, more than any single title on the list.
4/7Made in India: A Titan Story

Series · 2026 · Hindi · Jun 3, 2026
MX Player9.5Viewers, Jan–Jun 2026 17.8 million The half-year's biggest surprise: a period drama about Xerxes Desai building an Indian wristwatch brand in a market ruled by smuggled goods, on Amazon MX Player rather than one of the subscription giants. 17.8 million viewers for a free, ad-supported business drama is a useful reminder that reach in India is not the same thing as spend.
5/7The Rajasaab

Film · 2026 · Telugu · Jan 8, 2026
JioHotstar5.3Viewers, Jan–Jun 2026 17.5 million The only South Indian title in the top seven — a Telugu horror comedy about a young man who wakes a family curse inside a haunted mansion. It streams on JioHotstar in India, and its 17.5 million viewers put it within touching distance of the fourth spot.
6/7Chiraiya

Series · 2026 · Hindi · Mar 20, 2026
JioHotstar7.2Viewers, Jan–Jun 2026 16.3 million A JioHotstar drama built around a household secret: a young wife's world comes apart when her sister-in-law tells her what happened on her wedding night. It is the highest-placed original series on the list after India's Got Latent, at 16.3 million viewers.
One pattern worth naming: of these seven, three are on Netflix, two on JioHotstar, one on Amazon MX Player and one across both Netflix and JioHotstar. Free ad-supported streaming put a title in the top four, and a YouTube-born format beat every commissioned series in the country.

- How does Ormax measure OTT viewership in India?
- Ormax StreamView counts the number of individuals in India who watched at least 30 minutes of a title, from weekly primary research with more than 3,000 respondents. Each viewer is counted once per title, dubbed versions are included, and short-form video such as reels and trailers is excluded.
