Highest-Grossing Indian Films of 2025 — All Now Streaming

A year on, every one of 2025's ten biggest Indian films has reached an Indian streaming service. Dhurandhar, Kantara: Chapter 1, Chhaava, Coolie and the rest — the final leaderboard and where each one lives now.

The useful thing about last year's box office list, as against this year's, is that it has stopped moving. Every film below has finished its theatrical run, its numbers have settled, and — the part that matters for a streaming site — all ten have reached an Indian OTT service. The 2026 leaderboard cannot say any of that yet.

2025 was the year the pan-India release stopped being a Telugu speciality. A Kannada film finished second, a Malayalam film ninth, and an animated Indian mythological feature made in five languages at once finished seventh — a category that essentially did not exist commercially two years earlier. Hindi still took four of the ten places, but no longer the shape of the year.

Figures are worldwide gross, unadjusted, as carried by Wikipedia's list of 2025 Indian films. Several carry ranges rather than single numbers, which is normal for pan-India releases where dubbed-version and overseas collections are reported inconsistently; where the article gives a range we quote it rather than picking a point inside it.

  1. 1/10Dhurandhar

    Dhurandhar

    Film · 2025 · Hindi · Dec 5, 2025

    NetflixJioHotstar7.0
    Worldwide gross1,350.83–1,428 crore

A December release that took the year on six weeks of running time, and then took 2026 as well through [Dhurandhar: The Revenge](/title/movie/1582770-dhurandhar-the-revenge), which grossed a reported 1,852 crore in March 2026 and now sits above this film on the all-time list. Aditya Dhar's original is colder and more procedural than the revenge picture that followed it — it spends most of its length assembling an operation rather than executing one — and it is the better film of the pair for exactly that reason. Fifth on the all-time Indian list. Netflix and JioHotstar both have it, as does the sequel.

  2. 2/10Kantara - A Legend: Chapter 1

    Kantara - A Legend: Chapter 1

    Film · 2025 · Kannada · Oct 1, 2025

    Prime Video
    Worldwide gross850–852 crore

A Kannada prequel finishing second across all Indian languages, which is the single most improbable line in this table. Rishab Shetty went back several centuries from the 2022 original to build the mythology it only gestured at, spent a great deal more money doing it, and got the biggest Kannada release ever outside the KGF films. Exclusive to Prime Video in India.

  3. 3/10Chhaava

    Chhaava

    Film · 2025 · Hindi · Feb 14, 2025

    Netflix
    Worldwide gross797.34–809 crore

The year's biggest Hindi film until December, and one of the very few historical epics of the last decade to work at this scale without a franchise behind it. Vicky Kaushal as Sambhaji Maharaj, in a film that runs considerably harsher than the genre's usual register — the last half hour is the reason people talked about it. On Netflix.

  4. 4/10Saiyaara

    Saiyaara

    Film · 2025 · Hindi · Jul 18, 2025

    Netflix
    Worldwide gross579 crore

The outlier of 2025 and the one nobody had modelled: a musical romance with two newcomers in the lead, no stars, no IP, released in July, that out-grossed every established Hindi property of the year bar Chhaava and Dhurandhar. It reopened an argument the industry had considered closed about whether the romantic drama could still open a film. Netflix.

  5. 5/10Coolie

    Coolie

    Film · 2025 · Tamil · Aug 13, 2025

    Prime Video
    Worldwide gross514–675 crore

The widest reported range in this table — 161 crore between the low and high estimates, which is more than most films on it earned in total — and a reminder that a ranked box office list is a set of overlapping bands, not a ladder. Lokesh Kanagaraj directing Rajinikanth, in August, which is about as close to a guaranteed opening as Tamil cinema offers. Prime Video.

  6. 6/10War 2

    War 2

    Film · 2025 · Hindi · Aug 13, 2025

    Netflix
    Worldwide gross303–351 crore

The spy-universe sequel, released on the same August weekend as Coolie and comprehensively second in that fight. Three hundred crore is a good year for most Hindi films and a disappointing one for this particular production, which is the clearest illustration in the table of how much the ceiling moved between 2023 and 2025. Netflix.

  7. 7/10Mahavatar Narsimha

    Mahavatar Narsimha

    Film · 2025 · Kannada · Jul 25, 2025

    Netflix
    Worldwide gross300–327 crore

An Indian animated mythological feature that grossed three hundred crore, released simultaneously in Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu. Nothing in Indian animation had come close to this commercially, and it was made for a fraction of what any live-action film in this top ten cost. It is the entry on this list with the largest consequences for what gets greenlit next. On Netflix.

  8. 8/10Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra

    Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra

    Film · 2025 · Malayalam · Aug 28, 2025

    JioHotstar
    Worldwide gross302–304 crore

The biggest Malayalam film ever made, and the first chapter of an intended superhero universe — a genre Malayalam cinema had shown almost no interest in until this landed. Kalyani Priyadarshan in the title role. Three hundred crore from an industry whose blockbusters historically topped out around a fifth of that. JioHotstar.

  9. 9/10Housefull 5

    Housefull 5

    Film · 2025 · Hindi · Jun 5, 2025

    Prime Video
    Worldwide gross295–302.5 crore

The fifth entry in a comedy franchise that has now been running for fifteen years, doing roughly what it always does. Its presence here is the least surprising thing in the table and the most reliable: whatever else changes about the Indian box office, this series clears its number. Prime Video.

  10. 10/10They Call Him OG

    They Call Him OG

    Film · 2025 · Telugu · Sep 24, 2025

    Netflix
    Worldwide gross293.65–300 crore

Pawan Kalyan in a gangster picture, released in September and the last of 2025's four Telugu-adjacent entries to land. Just under the three-hundred mark on the low estimate and just over it on the high one, which is the kind of margin that decides how a film gets written about for years afterwards. Netflix.

The composition is the story. Hindi took four of ten, Telugu one, Tamil one, Kannada one, Malayalam one, and a five-language animated feature took another — against 2019, when a list like this would have been Hindi with two or three exceptions. The pan-India release is no longer a strategy that South Indian producers use to reach the Hindi market; it is simply how large Indian films are now made.

The streaming distribution is worth noting too. Netflix took six of the ten, Prime Video three, JioHotstar two, and one film — Dhurandhar — sits on two services at once. No Indian platform outside those three holds a single title from the year's top ten.

For where 2026 has got to by comparison, there is the Hindi leaderboard, the Telugu and Tamil one and the Malayalam one. The all-time list puts both years in their longer context — two of the ten films above now sit in the all-time Indian top fifteen.
