Biggest Telugu and Tamil Films of 2026 — Where to Stream Them
Peddi cleared 330 crore, Jana Nayagan and Karuppu both cleared 300, and eight of the nine biggest Telugu and Tamil releases of 2026 are already on Indian OTT. The leaderboard, with the platform for each.

The Hindi box office in 2026 has been one enormous film and a long gap. Telugu and Tamil have had the opposite year: no single release near Dhurandhar's scale, but four films clustered between 300 and 400 crore and a deeper bench beneath them than either industry managed in 2025.
This is the combined Telugu and Tamil leaderboard for the year so far, ranked on worldwide gross, with where each film streams in India. The two industries are grouped together because they increasingly release against each other rather than in separate markets — Peddi and Karuppu opened seven weeks apart into substantially the same pan-South audience, and both were dubbed into the other's language on day one.
Eight of the nine are already streaming. The one that is not, the year's biggest Tamil release, is recent enough that its theatrical run has not closed; we have left it in the ranking rather than pretending the year's second-biggest film does not exist, and its card says plainly that it has not reached OTT yet.
1/9Peddi

Film · 2026 · Telugu · Jun 3, 2026
Netflix6.1Worldwide gross 330–400 crore The biggest South Indian film of the year and the third biggest Indian film of 2026 behind only the two Hindi giants. The range attached to it is unusually wide even by the standards of pan-India accounting — a 70 crore spread — which is worth holding in mind before treating its lead over Jana Nayagan as settled. It reached Netflix quickly by 2026 standards, inside about ten weeks of release.
2/9Jana Nayagan

Film · 2026 · Tamil · Jul 22, 2026
Worldwide gross 318.09 crore The year's biggest Tamil release and the only film in this top four with a single agreed figure rather than a range. It is also the only one in the top nine that has not yet appeared on an Indian streaming service — it opened on 22 July and is still working through its theatrical window, so there is no platform tag on this card yet. Worth setting a reminder for rather than hunting: nothing about the release pattern suggests it will stay off OTT long.
3/9Karuppu

Film · 2026 · Tamil · May 14, 2026
Prime Video7.6Worldwide gross 304–340 crore Tamil cinema's other 300-crore film of 2026, and on the upper end of its range it would outgross Jana Nayagan — the two are separated by less than the width of either estimate, which is a good illustration of why a ranked box office list should be read as a band rather than a ladder. Prime Video has it in India, and had it comparatively fast.
4/9Mana ShankaraVaraPrasad Garu

Film · 2026 · Telugu · Jan 11, 2026
Zee56.1Worldwide gross 300–310 crore A January release that held for months, which is the harder way to reach 300 crore and the more durable signal about a film. It was the year's first Telugu blockbuster and set the floor the rest of the industry spent 2026 clearing. On Zee5, the only film in this top five that did not go to Netflix or Prime.
5/9The Rajasaab

Film · 2026 · Telugu · Jan 8, 2026
JioHotstar5.3Worldwide gross 209 crore The steepest drop on the list — 90 crore separates fifth from fourth, and nothing released in 2026 has landed in that gap. Prabhas in a horror-comedy register rather than the mythic-epic mode he has occupied since Baahubali, which is the more interesting thing about it commercially than the number. On JioHotstar.
6/9Anaganaga Oka Raju

Film · 2026 · Telugu · Jan 14, 2026
Netflix7.2Worldwide gross 100.20 crore One of three Telugu films to clear a hundred crore in 2026 and the highest of them by two-tenths of a crore, which is the sort of margin that exists in trade reporting rather than in reality. A mid-January release, now on Netflix.
7/9Maa Inti Bangaram

Film · 2026 · Telugu · Jun 18, 2026
JioHotstar7.1Worldwide gross 100 crore A round hundred crore, reported as exactly that, which usually means a figure that has been rounded rather than counted. A June release and the most recent film in this top nine to have already reached streaming — it is on JioHotstar.
8/9Ustaad Bhagat Singh

Film · 2026 · Telugu · Mar 18, 2026
Netflix6.5Worldwide gross 95 crore A long-delayed production that finally opened in March and landed just under the hundred-crore line. Netflix picked it up in India. Its presence this high says as much about the shape of the 2026 Telugu slate below the top four as it does about the film.
9/9Parasakthi

Film · 2026 · Tamil · Jan 9, 2026
Zee56.0Worldwide gross 84 crore Third-biggest Tamil film of the year and a very long way behind the two above it — the gap between Karuppu and Parasakthi is larger than Parasakthi's entire gross, which is the clearest single number on the concentration problem in Tamil cinema this year. Streaming on Zee5.
The pattern across both industries in 2026 is concentration. Four films took more than 300 crore; the fifth-biggest took 209; the ninth took 84. There is no functioning middle. That is a sharper cliff than either industry had in 2025, and it is the reason a strong year at the aggregate level has not felt like one for most of the people making films in it.
The streaming side reads better. Seven of these nine were on an Indian service within months rather than quarters, and the windows have kept shortening: Peddi took about ten weeks, and several of the smaller titles took less. Only Jana Nayagan and Thaai Kizhavi from the wider top ten are still theatrical-only.
For the rest of the year's South Indian output, Malayalam had its own leaderboard and a very different shape to it. Language hubs for Telugu and Tamil carry everything new on Indian OTT in each language as it lands.
