Tamil cinema's all-time chart is dominated by two stars and one director. Rajinikanth has four of the twelve films below, Vijay three, and Lokesh Kanagaraj directed three of them: Vikram, Leo and Coolie. Only two of the twelve were released before 2022, which says as much about how the market has grown as about the films themselves.
Box-office figures for Tamil films are estimates. There is no official tracking, producers and trade analysts often disagree, and the ranges below reflect that. Where a film's estimates differ widely, as Coolie's do, its position on the list depends on which end of the range you believe.
Every one of the twelve now streams in India, spread across Prime Video, Netflix, JioHotstar and Zee5. Platform chips on each card show where.
